Wandering shoemaker
It all began when Ferdinand Stadler, a traveling shoemaker, went from farm to farm. As was the custom in the Tyrolean mountains at the time, the farmers had the hides of their slaughtered calves and cattle tanned themselves. At regular intervals, a shoemaker would come in exchange for food, lodging, and a small allowance to make new shoes from these hides and to repair those that were still usable.
shoemaker's workshop
After Ferdinand Stadler had established a reputation as a skilled shoemaker, he decided to settle down and, together with his wife Kathi Stadler, founded a small shoemaking workshop in 1930 in Oberau, a small mountain village in the Kitzbühel Alps.
Conquest of Austria
Over time, the handcrafted shoes became increasingly popular and well-known. The shoes, which were then produced under the name "Festa" for Ferdinand Stadler, soon conquered all of Austria.
Relocation to Wörgl
Ferdinand Stadler was a highly innovative individual who developed numerous patents that would have a lasting impact on the development of an entire industry. After being taken over by his two sons, Alfred and Kurt Stadler, in 1972, the company relocated to Wörgl.
Factory
A new, modern factory was built, which began operations in 1977.
export
In the early 1980s, exports became increasingly important and have increased to about 65% of sales to this day.
Consistent further development
Only through consistent further development in fit and workmanship, the concentration on tradition and the exclusive use of first-class materials was our small medium-sized company able to hold its own in the German-speaking world.
FIRST-CLASS SHOES – Consistent further development
But the long tradition that our company can look back on is a guarantee for first-class shoes.
Family business
The course has already been set for the future. In 1993, Bernhard Stadler, representing the third generation, joined the family business, thus ensuring the Stadler company's continued success into the next millennium.
