After the two sons Alfred and Kurt Stadler had taken over the company in 1972 it moved to Wörgl.

Firma

Everything started when Ferdinand Stadler was walking from farm to farm as a „travelling shoemaker“.

The farmers used to tan the skins of the slaughtered calves and cattle by themselves as it was the custom in the Tyrolean Mountains in this time.

In regular intervals a shoemaker passed in order to make new shoes out of these skins and repair the still useable shoes, - for board and lodging as well as a small tip.

When Ferdinand Stadler had acquired a reputation as a skilful shoemaker, he decided to settle down.

He founded a small shoemaker‘s workshop together with his wife Kathi Stadler in Oberau, a small mountain village in the Kitzbühler Alps, in 1930.

These handmade shoes were gradually becoming more and more popular and famous. The shoes which were produced under the name „Festa“ for Ferdinand Stadler quite soon conquered the whole of Austria.

Ferdinand Stadler proved to be very innovative, developing many patents which should lastingly influence the development of an entire branch.

A new modern factory started its production in 1977 on the location our company is still working today.

In the early 1980s exports were gaining more and more importance and now make up about 50 % of the sales.
Only the steady improvement of fitting, quality,

workmanship and function make the so called - Wellness for your Feed! – our philosophy on which based the success of our small company on the European market.

In 1993 Bernhard Stadler, who he is already the third generation, entered the family business and is responsible for a new fresh breeze in the collection.

Also a number of well known Austrians wear Stadler-Shoes. For example the Austrian President

Dr. Heinz Fischer and his wife two enthusiastic mountain-walker.

The Austrian president, Heinz Fischer, is also walking with Stadler-shoes.

During his visit in the Wildschönau the Austrian president and enthusiastic hiker Heinz Fischer and his wife Margit Fischer received each a pair of Stadler Mountain Walker by Sabine and Bernhard Stadler.
